You’d think someone with a résumé boasting stints in the U.S. Coast Guard and FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) would know better than to post death threats against the president of the United States. But Peter Stinson apparently skipped class the day they covered “Don’t commit felonies on the internet.”

Stinson, whose résumé includes 33 years in the Coast Guard and a stretch teaching for FEMA, apparently decided that retirement was the perfect time to audition for a true crime docuseries.

According to a 19-page FBI affidavit, between 2020 and 2025, Stinson, who says he is affiliated with Antifa (big surprise), allegedly posted a string of deranged threats targeting Donald Trump, including talk of weapons, poison, and even offering to fund a “contract hit.”

Stinson, a trained sharpshooter, was arrested recently after allegedly going full keyboard warrior and threatening to kill Donald J. Trump – not just once, but multiple times.

On Feb. 6th, Stinson posted online on X, “This is war. Sides will be drawn. Antifa always wins in the end. Violence is inherently necessary.”

One of Stinson’s posts on April 5, 2020 about Trump had Stinson saying, ” What a f***ing moron. Would someone just pull the proverbial trigger, please.” He followed with an another post on the same day which read: “I would do it. I would take the fall to save America. Too bad I don’t have the operational skills to pull it off. I am willing to serve in a support capacity for someone else with the skills to take care of things.”

Stinson was brought to the attention of FBI Director Kash Patel when someone tagged him in one of Stinson’s Instagram posts.

Stinson now faces federal charges that could land him in prison for about five years. In my opinion, that’s not much of a punishment.

But at least now, under a legitimate FBI, Stinson is drifting into rough waters with the possibility of paying some consequences for his behavior. And instead of enjoying a quiet retirement, the Coast Guard vet may end up swapping sea duty for a cell block – proof that going overboard online can really sink you.
