Elon Musk actually thinks that he is going to roll out some sort of monthly subscription plan for XTwitter. He talked about this in a livestream with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He said that XTwitter is “moving to having a small, monthly payment for use of the X system” and said the social network now has 550 million monthly users.
LOL. x 55,000,000.
I’m NOT paying to be on XTwitter. In fact, I’m NEVER paying to be on XTwitter. Not $50. Not $25. Not $5. Not $1.
XTwitter makes plenty of money off me and everyone else from their advertising. In fact, 85% of their revenue is through advertising fees to partners. So Musk can keep his greedy little hands out of my bank account.
Just like Facebook, XTwitter hasn’t added any value to its platform since its arrival but yet Musk thinks we’re going to pay for…what exactly?
It’s not like there aren’t other social media outlets to use to switch to when we all make our mass exodus – Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Truth Social, YouTube, WhatsApp, WeChat, Telegram, Snapchat, LinkedIn, Triller, Vimeo, Valence, Untapped, Elpha, Yubo, Peanut and more.
Musk has been making a lot of stupid mistakes lately as I’ve documented in the past (here and here and here) and if he continues, he might soon find himself going the way of Myspace.
