As I first reported here last week the state of Michigan has been banking old cases of Covid-19 and is now injecting them into daily numbers to give the appearance of a spike, when in reality the peak was reached on April 3rd for new cases and April 10th for deaths over a 24-hour period.

Since my reporting, two things have happened; first the state has increased its testing and second it has begun to ‘supplement’ daily death numbers with old cases. As a result, on April 21st the state reported 232 deaths for the day before but had boosted the count with 95 deaths compiled over several weeks. The same thing has continued to happen. 164 deaths were reported on April 23rd but that count had 55 previous deaths added into the count and on April 25th with 58 old cases tallied the count was released at 189 deaths.

However, on April 26th, with no manipulation of the numbers the new deaths reported was just 41.

The state has also not been consistent about releasing new case numbers affecting two critical populations, those in prison which the state controls completely and those in long term care facilities which the state regulates endlessly. In fact, nursing homes and prisons appear to account for a very large percentage of all cases not only in Michigan but around the country. 

One Michigan prison, Lakeland in Branch County has had at least 55% of its inmates test positive. But before you go back into panic mode Reuters is reporting 96% of 3,300 inmates found to be positive with Covid-19 in Arkansas, North Carolina, Ohio and Virginia- never showed any signs of the illness at all. That’s right they were asymptomatic.

That tells us just like other studies from Santa Clara, California, Chelsea, Massachusetts and elsewhere, that millions of Americans have likely already been exposed to Covid-19 and simply put that means it is a lot less dangerous than we have been told.

The Covid-19 pandemic is ruthless to those with certain preexisting health conditions like obesity, high blood pressure and diabetes. But for the vast majority of us it poses a very slight risk.

You may not realize that from the hyperventilating media focusing on far outlier cases like the 5-year old that died in Detroit. You probably were never told she also had meningitis. So did Covid-19 cause her death? It doesn’t matter it will be counted that way and yes the death of a child is tragic and the media loves that kind of story.

But the real crime has been the destruction of the economy with 25 million Americans out of work. The worst unemployment disaster since the Great Depression and those that peddled doomsday models that have proven to be false over and over again must find a way to defend the destruction they unleashed on the world.

Now they are screaming, if you stop social distancing too soon it will leave untold thousands dead. But that doesn’t hold water anymore either. I mean we have learned that a host of places didn’t face the apocalypse like Sweden, Iowa, Arkansas and South Dakota and none of those places ever locked down. 

We were told for weeks that Florida and its Governor Ron DeSantis had basically committed crimes against humanity for not putting the whole state in a lockdown weeks earlier and putting armed guards on the beaches to stop Spring Break but we now know New York still has 25 times more cases and Florida is opening back up.

Not only is Florida opening back up so is Colorado, Texas, Georgia and a host of others. No, there will not be people dying in the streets as a result.

However because of stubbornness and the inability to admit your wrong or the pure intoxication of power, Governors Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan and Tony Evers of Wisconsin among others will insist they have saved lives.

For that reason- Michigan and others will continue to cook the books and pad the numbers to justify the incredible amount of damage they have done.
