—Here are 3 big things you need to know—

 

One — Thousands of travelers are having a hard time finding their luggage after mass cancellations of Southwest Airlines flights.  Southwest has just announced plans to fly only one third of its schedule in the upcoming days nationwide as it struggles with a company meltdown. Southwest has canceled nearly 16-thousand flights since December 22, when a massive winter storm began to hit the U.S.

Two—   A Delaware truck driver will spend 19 years and seven months in prison for plotting to kidnap and kill Governor Gretchen Whitmer in 2020. Barry Croft Jr. was sentenced yesterday in federal court in Grand Rapids and has received the longest sentence so far among the conspirators.

 

And number three— Gas prices are up for the second day in a row.  Triple-A puts today’s national average at three-15 for a gallon of regular, two cents higher than Wednesday and a nickel higher than Tuesday.  Georgia has the nation’s lowest-priced gas with a statewide average of two-72 a gallon, a penny higher than Wednesday.
