Three— The Food and Drug Administration is expected to authorize Pfizer’s COVID-19 booster shot for all adults in the coming days. That could come as soon as Thursday. The booster shot is currently authorized for certain groups like folks ages 65 and up and anyone at high risk of COVID-19 because of their jobs or if they have an underlying medical condition.
Two— The legal case between the state of Michigan and Canada’s Enbridge Energy over the Line 5 oil pipeline under the Straits of Mackinac will stay in federal court. A judge turned down the motion from the state to return the case to Ingham County. Attorney General Dana Nessel sued Enbridge there to enforce the shutdown order from Governor Whitmer.
And number one— House Democratic leaders are expecting a vote on President Biden’s big social spending bill late this week. The nearly two-trillion-dollar bill has been pared down from three-and-a-half-trillion. Lawmakers are waiting for the bill to be scored by the Congressional Budget Office, but that may not be unveiled until late Friday.
