—Here are 3 big things you need to know—
Three— California’s second largest wildfire ever is now up to more than half a million acres. That means it’s burned an area larger than the city of Los Angeles. It’s also destroyed more than eleven-hundred structures.
Two— Figures released by the U.S. Census Bureau showed some of Michigan’s largest percentage population losses were in the state’s Upper Peninsula, while three of the state’s four most populous counties gained people. Detroit lost about 10% of its population over the past decade.
And number one— Pentagon spokesman John Kirby is revealing a plan to get U.S. embassy staff members out of Afghanistan. On Thursday, Kirby said over three-thousand troops are on their way back to assist in the evacuation. The move comes as the Taliban has been gaining ground in the nation.
