—Here are 3 big things you need to know—

Three—  The search is on for two people missing after a flash flood in a Colorado canyon.  At least one person has already died and now emergency evacuations are underway.  Officials say a 30-mile stretch of the canyon filled with water last night, destroying several houses.

Two— A bill to end the extra 300-dollars a week in unemployment pay from the federal government has been vetoed by Governor Whitmer. She said in her letter to lawmakers she would consider ending the pay before the September 4th end date if they raise the weekly pay in the meantime and agree to spend one-point-four-billion dollars on the state’s child care shortage.

And number one— Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer will proceed with his plan to have a test vote Wednesday on a bipartisan infrastructure bill.  Lawmakers are continuing to negotiate but no written bill has been proposed.  Nonetheless, Schumer wants to formally open debate with a procedural vote.
