—Here are 3 big things you need to know—
Three— Fewer Americans are giving money to charity. The decline amounts to 20 million fewer households donating to charity in 2016 versus 2000, researchers said. Turns out Americans’ relationship with God may have something to do with it.
Two— The Modern Era Committee has voted into the Hall of Fame Southfield native Ted Simmons, as well as late executive Marvin Miller. But Lou Whitaker, in his first year of consideration on this ballot, got just six votes, six shy of the 12 needed for induction. The committee will not convene again until 2022.
And number one— Presidential hopeful Sen. Elizabeth Warren has long been an opponent of school choice, and now she says the burden should be on parents to fix public education, urging those who want options beyond failing schools to pay for improvements and services themselves.
