Kosovo and the United States have agreed to draft an agreement on American support of investments in Kosovo.
Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti signed a joint statement with the U.S. government delegation visiting Prishtina today, pledging to an “expeditious conclusion of a new Kosovo-United States Investment Incentive Agreement,” to be signed as soon as possible.
It is expected to provide “access to the full range of investment support offered by the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation.”
Once the agreement enters into force, the two countries will discuss financing projects foreseen in the Kosovo-Serbia deal signed in the Oval Office.
On Monday, both the U.S. delegation and the Kosovo government stressed that the visit in Prishtina and the joint statement signed show the Trump administration’s commitment to supporting development in Kosovo and peace in the region.
The U.S. delegation will also visit Serbia, Greece and Israel.
