Earlier this week, we reported that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry had signed a major deal with Netflix that could be worth up to $150 million. Now, it’s being reported that this deal “could include a documentary on Princess Diana,” but royal sources are warning that it could “fuel tensions between him and William.”

A source close to the situation said that the documentary would focus on Diana’s family history and heritage. However, the insider also voiced fears that it would only fuel the growing rift between Harry and his older brother, Prince William.

“It will work as a tribute to Diana and build on all the incredible charity work she has done,” a source told the Mirror. “Netflix would also love to make a documentary about Diana and it is something they have been pushing for.”

Referring to William and Harry, the source added, “These plans could further antagonize their fallout. If it does happen William will be the first to know.”

This comes after a former bodyguard for Diana, who tragically died in a car crash in 1997, spoke out to urge Harry to get a controversial musical pulled from Netflix. The streaming service is set to screen “Diana: A New Musical,” which includes a fictitious scene in which the Queen labels her a “tart.”

Other controversial aspects of the musical include a scene in which the queen tells Diana, In the old days we would have chopped off your head,” and another scene depicts Diana in bed with James Hewitt.

“The Diana musical, soon to be premiered on Netflix, presents a huge dilemma to them both,” Ken Wharfe, Diana’s former bodyguard, told The Sun. “If the critics are to be believed, this musical story is not a joyous journey of love with a happy ending but an episodic account of untruths, scandal and sex.”

“He now has the chance, irrespective of his lucrative deal with Netflix, to stand alone from his wife and make clear his abhorrence of such a musical and call Netflix to account,” Wharfe continued.

Harry and Meghan announced their Netflix deal earlier this week.

“Our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope,” the couple told the New York Times. “As new parents, making inspirational family programming is also important to us.”

They went on to say that Netflix’s “unprecedented reach will help us share impactful content that unlocks action.”
