If you want an example of how the Democrats have left the police and law and order in the dust look no further than Chicago.
As crime soars, and Americans are gunned down in the streets daily, and while businesses are destroyed and looted, Dem leaders, like failed and disgraced Mayor Lori Lightfoot, turn a blind eye to police and the needs of citizens, in order to focus on and celebrate Marxist BLM mobs.
So much so, that the Chicago police, who place their life and limbs on the line daily, had to host a pancake breakfast in order to raise the funds needed to buy bullet-proof vests.
As Chicago becomes increasingly violent, it would only make sense that the Windy City’s police department would have more bulletproof vests.
Unfortunately, as a report from Chicago’s local ABC affiliate proves, city government has no interest in providing the men and women in blue with such life-saving equipment.
As the WLS-TV report noted, “Bulletproof vests need to be replaced every five years. The cost is $500 or more, all coming out of the pockets of officers.”
Since the city showed no desire to help the police afford that equipment, it was up to a pro-police group to find enough funds to pay for the vests.
In an effort to do the job the city of Chicago would not do, the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation held a pancake breakfast last October to raise the funds necessary to buy bulletproof vests.
Ultimately, the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation has raised enough to buy 8,000 bulletproof vests over the past five years.
The breakfast was part of the foundation’s “Get Behind the Vest” initiative.
Dem officials will join protesters, paint their streets with BLM murals, condemn decent Americans for going to the beach while hailing violent mobs as “peaceful protesters.” But they won’t lift a finger to help police officers.
They demonize police, seek to defund them, and as a result, leave citizens more vulnerable and unsafe.
These same Dem leaders claim to care about “black lives” yet they do nothing to offer black families school choice, trade schools, jobs, or family training and counseling.
What the left has done to the black community, they’re now trying to do to the rest of the country – depleting people of hope, leaving them helpless and dependent on an incompetent and bloated government that never comes to help, and creating division and anger.
They are a political party lost – they have no message of hope, they have no plans, they have nothing except hate and rage against Trump, police, and law and order.
They are chaotic and angry, and if Joe Biden manages to stumble his way into the White House, what you see happening in liberal-run cities – the damage, destruction, terrorism – will spread everywhere, and pancake breakfasts won’t even begin to fix the problem.
