 —Here are 3 big things you need to know—

Three—  We’ll get the new unemployment figures later this morning. Estimates are that between 1.3 million to 1.4 million people filed initial applications last week. That would fall below the 1.5 million who sought first-time aid the week before.

Two— The Democratic National Convention will be held over four days in August, but in a far more scaled-back fashion.  Convention delegates who would normally fill a basketball arena to cheer on Joe Biden as he accepts the Democratic presidential nomination are being instructed not to make plans to travel to Milwaukee and are being told they should conduct their business remotely. 

And number one— Sen. Tim Scott ripped into Democrats Wednesday after the bill he authored on police reform failed in the Senate on a procedural vote. He accused Democrats of punting on the issue until after the election and abusing what he described as their “monopoly” on black voters. Audio coming up…
