A newly uncovered video from Rashard Brooks’ YouTube Channel (which is still up at the time of this publishing) may shed some light on why he fought police and then tried to run.
The man in the video who looks exactly like Mr. Brooks does in the bodycam footage, and who introduces himself as “Rashard Brooks,” appears to be doing some sort of interview with a white guy.

I don’t know the backstory on why he’s telling this man his current life story, but the date that this takes place according to the Youtube upload is May 24, 2020.
In the video, Rashard is sharing details of his life, what he does for work, and some of his personal life.
But it’s the part about being on “probation” and how if he gets in trouble with the police for anything, he will have to go back jail.
Many are speculating that this is why Mr. Brooks (in his drunken state of mind) may have made the bad decision to fight the arrest and the police.
You can watch the videos below (watch both for full context):

It was very sad to see someone lose their life so young. But, it didn’t have to be this way.
Nobody on earth can fight police, take their tasers and shoot it them, and expect to not get shot at.
I think Mr. Bro0ks was not thinking clearly and was fueled by a fear of going back to prison and reacted in the worst way possible.
Sad ending. I pray for his family.
