Believe it or not, Alan Tucker, Attorney for Gregory, and Travis McMichael thought releasing the infamous video showing both father and son confronting and killing black jogger Ahmaud Arbery on February 23 would help clear his clients of a murder charge.
Tucker said if Arbery ‘had just froze… he wouldn’t have been shot.’ Unbelievable.
Reports are that the duo claimed Arbery was a burglary suspect, but on Friday, we learned how no thefts had been reported in the neighborhood for seven weeks before they killed him.
Jackie Johnson, Brunswick District Attorney, will have a lot to answer for also as she reportedly blocked police from arresting the pair for the shooting back in February because the father had worked in her office.
Shocking video that showed two white men shooting unarmed black jogger Ahmaud Arbery in Georgia was leaked to the press by assailants’ close friend who believed it would clear them of any crime.
Attorney Alan Tucker told Inside Edition Friday that he was responsible for releasing the footage, which showed his pals Gregory and Travis McMichael engaged in a fatal altercation with Arbery in Brunswick on February 23.
‘I really thought releasing the video would put the truth out to the public,’ Tucker stated.
‘If he [Arbery] had just froze and hadn’t done anything, then he wouldn’t have been shot.’
However after the video was uploaded to the internet Tuesday it quickly went viral and sparked nationwide outrage. Presumptive Democratic nominee for President Joe Biden said it showed the McMichaels killing Aubrey ‘in cold blood’.
Both father and son were arrested at their home in Brunswick on Thursday after that leaked footage of Arbery’s shooting sparked widespread outrage.

The part I find interesting about the video is he has a runner cadence, probably a good 175-180 SPM (steps per minute). It actually takes concentrated effort to maintain this stride, indicating he probably didn’t think these guys were a threat until the last minute. This isn’t a stride from someone running away after committing a crime.
Reports are that the guy shooting the video, William Bryan, went home after the shooting, to return later to the crime scene to meet with police. If he were armed, that would’ve given him time to go home and drop off his gun. Hrm. Speculating, but I don’t get how they would’ve let anyone leave the scene!

Just change the races around and see what the reaction would be. Imagine an unarmed young white man dressed in gym clothes jogging through a neighborhood. Two armed black men approach him in a pickup truck and tell him to stop. He doesn’t want to stop because they look mad, and they both have guns.
The white man gets blasted with gunfire. I wonder what the reaction from people would be then?
Is that still considered “stand your ground”?
