Shannon Brown, an Ex-Lakers guard, was charged with aggravated assault after witnesses say he fired a rifle at a house-hunting couple that entered his Georgia home. The couple told police they believed Brown’s property was on the market because they saw a ‘for sale’ sign, and his front door was open.

The visiting couple claimed they announced their presence and allegedly heard a voice say ‘come in.’ When they entered, Brown emerged, reportedly with a rifle, causing the couple to exit and return to their car immediately. Brown then fired off five or six shots in their direction as they left.
After a further investigation, the house was not on the market, according to local real estate websites.
[The Citizen] Shannon Brown, 34, was charged with one count of aggravated assault, according to Fayette County Jail records.
Tyrone Police Department spokesman Philip Nelson said a man and woman who said they were looking for homes for sale at approximately 6 p.m. stopped at a home in the River Oaks subdivision off Ga. Highway 74. The home has a for sale sign outside, Nelson added.
The couple told police the gate to the property was open, as was the front door, Nelson said, adding that the couple maintained they announced their presence as they entered the home, and that someone inside the home said, “Come in.”
At one point, Brown emerged holding a rifle, with the couple telling police they withdrew from the house and that Brown fired five or six rounds in their direction as they were leaving, Nelson said.

I find it funny how Shannon Brown was arrested within a week for allegedly shooting in the direction of two people who entered his home(in Georgia) yet it took 2.5 months for charges to come against a father & son who killed a young Black man who was just JOGGING. #AhmaudArbery

What’s your take on this story? Should Brown be prosecuted for firing the shots at the couple? Was he within his rights to fire the shots?
