This is so ridiculous. The San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) is now being run according to PC rules. It’s a progressive paradise.

It seems that members of the SFPD wearing face masks decorated with a “thin blue line” flag associated with the pro-police Blue Lives Matter movement have started a huge controversy. Some officers wore them at a May Day protest, prompting the police chief to ban further face coverings with the “thin blue line” symbol to avoid what he described as a perception of being “divisive or disrespectful.”
If the police officers across the country want to wear masks with an American Flag on it – that’s fine with me. The American Flag stands for what I believe – freedom and the fact that ALL lives matter. And if the BlackLivesMatter crowd does not like that – they can pound sand!
They should be able to wear blue masks that complement the uniform while on duty since officers apparently require masks in San Fran. I understand that the snowflakes would be “offended” by the police, whom they hate, let alone their thin blue line, so yes, maybe they could wear them off-duty to protect the offended snowflake’s twisted psyche.
Hell, give them to friends and family members to wear to show solidarity with their brave heroes.

[SF Gate] The police union ordered and distributed the masks emblazoned with black-and-white American flag with a blue stripe across the middle. The symbol is associated with the Blue Lives Matter movement, a display of unity among police officers in response to the national Black Lives Matter movement.
In an email obtained by KTVU-TV, Chief Bill Scott told his officers Friday he considered the blue flag and stripe “a meaningful expression to honor fallen officers.” However, he worried that some may perceive the symbol as “divisive and disrespectful.”
A retired civil rights lawyer told the San Francisco Chronicle the masks, which also includes the logo for the San Francisco Police Officers Association, violate a long-standing policy that bars police from expressing political opinions while wearing their uniforms.
“The thin blue line is a political symbol,” John Crew said. “And it’s a POA-branded mask. It’s like wearing a political button.”
The police union president, Tony Montoya, said the union had shown the masks to Scott’s command staff, and several of them had asked for more than one. The blue line “represents law enforcement’s separation of order and chaos,” he said.
The SFPD is no longer a true police force; their role is less public safety and more as the personal servants for the Democrats/Communists who run San Francisco.
Their job is only to prevent “unapproved crime”; that’s hate crime (against everyone but straight white males), violent crimes like murder, spousal abuse, and some drug crime. They are also expected to do everything possible to coddle and help the homeless, generate revenue by writing citations, and above all, not to offend the left by stopping too many people from protected groups regardless if the stop is warranted. They are instructed to ignore all sorts of property crime, “victimless crime,” and doing anything that can be felt is racist.

In turn, they are well paid, have excellent benefits, a fat pension, and not too tough a job, as long as you follow orders from the leftist political elite. Smart officers are far better off working in many of the smaller Bay Area cities (not Oakland, Berkeley, Richmond) but San Mateo, Fremont, and even San Jose that are far more practical on a local level as well as safer. Local populations support and respect the police in these towns.
In SF when the police do their job or make a mistake, they will be blamed for something,
Anything they chose to wear that offends Dem/Communists (like an American Flag, even without the blue line) will be forbidden because it offends part of the Dem/Communist coalition that is SF.
