Fans of country music legend Dolly Parton got the surprise of their lives this week when it was revealed that she secretly produced the hit television show “Buffy The Vampire Slayer.”
Fox News reported that while Parton’s name was never in the credits for the iconic 1990s television show that starred Sarah Michelle Gellar, her production Sandollar Entertainment was responsible for putting the series on air. The singer started Sandollar Entertainment with her longtime manager Sandy Gallin back in 1986, and it produced “Buffy The Vampire Slayer” for all seven seasons that it was on television.
Fans have also been shocked to discover that Gellar’s Buffy Summers’ birthday is January 19, which is the same as Parton’s. Sandollar Entertainment has produced many other classic television shows and films as well, including “Father of the Bride” in 1991, the 1986 flick “Fly Away Home,” and “Angel,” which ran from 1999 to 2004.

Fans expressed their surprise at these revelations on Twitter.
“I just found out that Dolly Parton was an uncredited–but important–producer on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and I AM SHOOK Y’ALL. We do not deserve Dolly Parton, tbh,” one social media user commented, with another adding, “First Dolly Parfton writes I Will Always Love You, then I find out she was a producer on Buffy The Vampire Slayer, the greatest show ever? Dolly is not only talented, but she’s cool af! #DollyParton #BuffyTheVampireSlayer.”
“Dolly Parton is an amazing business women in entertainment. Her being a secret producer for Buffy the vampire slayer is truly incredible. Makes me love the show that much more,” a third user wrote. A fourth person commented, “Just learned that @DollyParton was a producer on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and my mind is blown. Just put Dolly in charge of the world already! #womanpower #Buffy #dollyparton.”
Parton has yet to comment on her involvement in the popular television show. We already knew that she had more talents outside of singing, as she proved she can act as well in movies like 9 To 5, but this shows that Parton has a knack for working behind the scenes as well. Is there anything this woman can’t do in the entertainment world?!
