The Nueske family is a family of farmers in Wisconsin who had thought they had seen it all in their years on the farm. Earlier this month, however, the family got the shock of their lives when a goat on their farm delivered a baby with two heads!

The Nueskes didn’t notice anything going on until the goat started delivering her baby, when it quickly became apparent that she was struggling. It was only when they saw two heads attached to one body that the family understood just how rare this baby really was.

“I noticed that the mother was having troubles having her second baby, which was completely normal,” Jocelyn Nueske recalled of the birth. “I started to assist her and I was very confused at first but then I realized the heads were attached and I was very shocked. It had four legs, two ears, four eyes and two noses.”

“We have been milking goats for six years and never had anything like this. We usually have around 700 babies born each year and nothing like this has ever happened until now,” she added, according to Daily Mail. “We’re just doing the best we can to keep him strong and healthy, and hoping for the best. We are a very caring family farm, we try our best to help any animal we can.”

The Nueskes ended up naming the baby Janus, after the Ancient Greek god who has two heads and faces. Both heads can actually eat, and the family has been feeding each of them from a bottle.

The family of farmers has quickly fell in love with Janus, a name that means duality and beginning, and they have decided to keep him as a pet.

“We understand and respect that people may have different opinions about our little Janus,” the family wrote in a Facebook post. “We made the decision care for this unique baby and are willing to share this rare and special experience with others.”

The Nueskes have even created shirts with Janus’ face on it along with the words “Dare to be Different,” hoping that Janus can inspire others to embrace what makes them unique.
