Canaan Bower, a New Mexico high school wrestler, probably didn’t know his day was going to end up like this, but he’s a hero in everybody’s eye after what happened at a local gas station.

Bower made headlines after helping stop an alleged kidnapping and assault in Lac Cruces, NM.

Daniel Arroyo Beltran, 22, of Phoenix, Arizona, was arrested after witnesses claimed he tried to kidnap three children at Chucky’s Gas Station in Doña Ana.

Beltran also assaulted several patrons and employees who tried to intervene, as you will see in the video below. The threatening random attacks didn’t stop until Bower entered the store and put Beltran down within seconds.

If you are fighting a wrestler or someone who knows Jujitsu and you don’t. You had better not let the fight go to the ground, or it’s a wrap.

Big props to the wrestler, he’s an example that age doesn’t matter when it comes to self-defense if you’ve got the tools. The man that attempted to help deserves props as well, but he missed so many chances of throwing one good punch that would have stunted the guy, allowing him to fight back. Maybe this event will make him realize that it is essential to learn a martial art/combat sport to have the tools to defend one’s self.
