While millions of children in America are stuck at home, stocks have once again plunged, and domestic travel is hanging in the balance, the coronavirus pandemic is gaining momentum across the nation.
Late Sunday night, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued new recommendations, saying that gatherings of 50 or more people should not take place in the U.S. for the next eight weeks. However, the recommendation does not apply to businesses or schools.
Maryland shut down their casinos by order of the Governor this past weekend.

All movie theaters, gyms, bars and restaurants will close in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut at 8 p.m. until further notice to help curb the spread of coronavirus, the governors of each state said Monday.
“We have agreed to a common set of rules that will pertain in all of our states — so don’t even think about going to a neighboring state because there’s going to be a different set of conditions,” Gov. Cuomo said of the three-state ban. “I believe we’re the only region in the country that has done this.”
”I think the federal government should have set up a uniform set of rules, so, absent that, regional coordination is imperative,” he added.
Cuomo said crowds of over 50 people will also be banned in all three states. Restaurants can remain open for take out and delivery only. [NY Daily News]
Remember, the coronavirus has around for months and still least than 10k deaths. China already shut down its pop-up hospitals, and they’ve had the virus the longest and yet haven’t hit 100k cases, and 75% of the cases have been cleared.
Life is getting completely shut down because a virus kills the very old and very sick. Accidents kill people, should we take away cars next? Notice the emphasis on the relatively very low number of deaths compared to the flu, and yet, not one word on the thousands that recover from it. Intentional global panic is the real pandemic, not the coronavirus!

As for the markets, there is no way that a real market, built on strong fundamentals, drops 5000 points in two weeks. The power players on Wall Street are selling short and making money on both ends, just like in 2007.
I have a question for those who went out and bought full shopping carts of bottled water or toilet paper, and I will hang around here for a while to see if anyone who did it can explain it.
So, if you are one of those who bought vast amounts of water or toilet paper, I am serious, tell me what your thoughts were.
As of the world’s total 4,000 deaths, maybe some who have changed their entire lives over Coronavirus can tell me why you did not do so over the flu? CDC now says up to 30,000 Americans have died from the flu from Oct. 2019 to Feb. 2020. Thus, the same who bought all that water, toilet paper, or sanitizer, why did the flu not cause you to react, even if you are more likely to die from it?
I will hang around to check responses, but I don’t want trolls, I just wish to those who went out and bought supplies explain how you planned to benefit from it.
I have to keep reminding everyone about how it took Barack Obama until October of 2009 to declare Swine Flu a National Health Emergency. It began in April of ’09, but Obama waited until 20,000 people in the U.S. had been hospitalized & 1,000+ had died. Where was the media hysteria then?
