America’s major television networks are taking their cameras and going home. Well, sort of. They’re suspending their participation in the White House television press pool, but don’t worry – they’ll still be covering President Donald Trump.

They can’t NOT cover President Trump because the moment he descended the golden escalator at Trump Tower in New York City on June 16, 2015, to announce his presidential campaign, they have been obsessed with him.

On Monday, September 21, 2026, Fox News joined ABC, CBS, NBC and CNN in suspending pooled television coverage after the White House restricted access for CNN, MS NOW and Politico.

The networks argue that the public has a vital interest in independent reporting and object to the administration deciding which news organizations get access. The White House, meanwhile, maintains that press access is a privilege, not a guaranteed right.

The suspension means the networks will no longer take turns supplying camera crews and sharing footage of certain presidential activities. It does not mean they’re abandoning their coverage of Trump.

They will most likely still report on his speeches, cover his rallies and broadcast footage obtained through other means. Don’t worry – their relentless criticism of Trump isn’t going anywhere. They’ll still have plenty of airtime to take their shots at the president.

Print, radio and wire-service journalists can also continue reporting on presidential activities.

The networks’ protest should be an opportunity for other television outlets to provide footage, assuming the White House grants them access. It’s not like the major networks are the only ones in the world who are able to provide cameras and audio equipment.

So while the networks may be stepping away from the White House press pool, don’t expect them to step away from covering and bashing Trump. Because that will never happen. Not even after his presidency is over.
