Democrats have discovered a newfound reverence for traditional names.
President Donald Trump’s decision to rename Lake Ontario “Lake America” has drawn overwhelming opposition from Democrats. Likewise, they weren’t too happy when he renamed the Gulf of Mexico the “Gulf of America.”
And now they’re losing their minds over this:

Suddenly, changing familiar words is a bridge – or perhaps a body of water – too far for the Democrats.
That’s quite rich considering the political left has spent years giving the English language its own extreme makeover.
“Women” became “menstruating people” in many government, academic and activist circles – including with our own Democratic Governor Gretchen Whitmer.
Far-left Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer calls women ‘menstruating people’ — and her Republican challengers go off: ‘Has the left gone insane?’ https://t.co/7TQKm6EjmD

“Latino” and “Latina” got a new cousin called “Latinx,” despite polling repeatedly showing the term never caught fire among the actual people it was supposed to describe.
Illegal aliens became “undocumented immigrants” and “migrants.” Prisoners and offenders have become “justice-involved individuals.”
“Drug abuse” increasingly gave way to “substance use disorder,” while government health guidance recommended terms such as “persons who use drugs” instead of “drug users” or “addicts.”
And “homeless people” are now “unhoused.”
And of course, the biggest name change of all: “Abortion” and killing babies were changed to “choice” and is now described as “reproductive health care.”
Apparently, words are supposed to evolve – right up until Trump gets hold of a Sharpie and a map.
After years of being told language must change with the times, Trump appears to have taken the lesson to heart. Democrats just don’t seem particularly thrilled with his choices.
