Women’s sports were supposedly created so female athletes could have their own space to compete, win scholarships, break records and – crazy concept – not have to physically compete against males.

Fast forward to 2026, and because of psycho Democrats pushing their woke agendas, boys and men can still pretend they are girls and women and participate in women’s sports in many places all over the country. Case in point: a recent “girls’” track meet in California that ended up looking more like a political protest zone than a sporting event.

As reported by the Daily Mail, a transgender athlete from Jurupa Valley High School dominated events at a California girls’ track competition in the first round of a state tournament over the weekend, sparking a “Save Girls’ Sports” rally, angry parents, and national headlines. Protesters gathered outside the meet arguing that biological girls are being shoved aside in the name of “inclusion.”

NCAA soccer player Sophia Lorey told the crowd outside the meet that allowing transgender athletes to compete in girls’ sports could cost female athletes scholarship opportunities and competitive placements. Pointing to the California Interscholastic Federation bylaw that permits participation based on gender identity, Lorey argued that “girls across California will continue losing placements, safety and opportunities that they rightfully earned.”

Pro-transgender activists held their own news conference which included the transgender’s mom complaining that the negative pushback against her “daughter” has impacted her family and she had to take a leave of absence from work to protect her child’s safety and emotional wellbeing.

The U.S. Department of Justice is suing California over its transgender athlete policies, while the U.S. Department of Education has widened investigations into several California schools and athletic organizations over potential Title IX violations involving transgender athletes competing in women’s sports.

There’s the bigger question nobody in power in liberal-land seems eager to answer: if women’s sports are no longer actually for women, then what exactly is the point of having separate categories at all?

For decades, women fought to stop being erased by men in athletics. Now they’re being told erasure is “progress.”
