In a development that will make dedicated Leftists spill their oat milk lattes, a voter ID initiative in California just crossed a major milestone: 1.35 million signatures collected to put the measure on the ballot in November (they need 874,641). Yes, that happened in California according to Just the News. Yes, THAT California in the United States.
Supporters of the “California Voter ID Initiative of 2026” say the proposal is pretty simple: if you vote in person, show a government-issued photo ID and prove you are a U.S. citizen. If you vote by mail, in addition to proving you’re a U.S. citizen, you have to write the last four digits of your ID on the ballot envelope.
Apparently, the idea that elections should involve confirming who’s actually voting isn’t quite the fringe conspiracy some Left activists claim. A recent poll has shown that 68% of Californians actually support voter ID.

Imagine that…For years and years and years, Governor Gavin Newsom and his fellow Democrats have insisted voter ID laws were unnecessary, unfair, and downright offensive (racist!) They fought (and keep fighting) every election integrity law that comes up. They do it all so that it will be easier for illegals to vote. That’s why they let tens of millions of them into the country – so they become current or future Democratic voters. Now, their voters (American voters) are turning on them.
But here’s the twist…more than a million Californians have lined up to say they’d actually like a little proof of identity when casting a ballot. It turns out the radical idea that voters in America should be citizens might not be so radical after all. Poor Democrats.
Opponents argue the requirements could create barriers for some voters – and we know exactly WHICH voters they are talking about (wink-wink).
