In a landmark move, five members of a North Texas far-left Antifa cell pleaded guilty to terrorism-related charges after the July 4th ambush of a federal detention facility in Alvarado, Texas. According to Breitbart News, they provided material support to terrorists and are now facing up to 15 years behind bars – not even close to what they actually deserve. Nevertheless, it’s a step forward – and a first of its kind for Antifa in the United States. There are a total of 16 defendants in all.

According to independent journalist Andy Ngo, who covers Antifa consistently, the admissions of one of the Antifa members, Seth Sikes, provided additional details about how the North Texas Antifa cell operated. Ngo said, “Sikes and his coconspirators adhered to an Antifa, anarchist ideology and organized cells or ‘affinity groups’ around their beliefs.” Antifa’s organized networks operate in a decentralized way, with militants clustering into small cells known as “affinity groups.”

Guess it turns out that dressing in black, firing AR-style rifles, and staging a terror ambush like a bargain-bin action-movie gang – and injuring a cop in the neck – isn’t the kind of “minor altercation” Democrats are always trying to downplay. No, this time their shenanigans finally triggered real consequences.

So next time the Democrats shrugs off another Antifa event as “just a protest,” let them know: organized violence + federal facility + rifles = judicial attention.
