Meanwhile, Dearborn Heights police showed off their new “prototype” patch with Arabic script. They framed it as a nod to diversity – the first Arabic-language police patch in the U.S. It was paused after receiving backlash before getting full approval.

At the end of the day, Michigan doesn’t need to import a theocracy franchise and plop it down between the auto plants and apple orchards. We’ve already got more than enough headaches with potholes that swallow sedans, power grids that flicker at the hint of a breeze, and politicians who couldn’t organize a church potluck without turning it into a scandal.
