For years, the so-called “guardians of democracy” targeted President Trump like hounds on a fox hunt – dragging him through investigations, raids, and endless media pile-ons. Now? The spotlight’s swinging back on the very people who once swore they were keeping America safe but were doing anything but.

Take John Bolton, for instance. Mr. Mustache himself. Trump’s former National Security Adviser turned Trump hater. The FBI raided his D.C. office and Maryland home, and hauled away documents stamped everything from “confidential” to “secret.”

Bolton’s defense? Probably the old “just ordinary records from a 40-year government career” routine. Sure thing. Because who doesn’t stash weapons-of-mass-destruction drafts and U.N. dossiers in the basement next to the Christmas decorations and baseball cards? And let’s not forget – Bolton’s already been criticized once for classified material slipping into his cash cow book deal – but the Biden DOJ, of course, dropped any charges against him.

Then there’s former FBI Director James Comey – the leftist media’s white knight of the anti-Trump resistance, now under indictment himself. The man who loves lecturing America about “no one being above the law” suddenly finds out the law can circle back faster than a boomerang. And he’s not even being targeted for some of his most egregious actions. The indictment is about perjury and obstruction of a congressional proceeding – small potatoes really if you look at the treasonous behavior he was involved with over the years.

It’s poetic, really. These were the very officials who applauded when Trump’s homes and offices were ransacked over “classified” papers that, as president, he had the authority to declassify. Yet now, Bolton’s filing cabinets and Comey’s conduct have them on the receiving end of FBI boots and grand juries. Boo hoo hoo.

After years of targeting Trump, the swamp’s elite finally get the same medicine they prescribed and it’s a beautiful sight to see.
