Virginia Democrats have a brand-new love story, and it’s not with hardworking taxpayers or law-abiding citizens. No, their latest crush is with convicted felons – murderers, rapists, armed robbers and the like. Their proposal? They’re pushing a constitutional amendment in their state that would automatically restore voting rights to all released felons.

According to Restoration News, Democrats want to restore a felon’s voting rights immediately after finishing his or her prison sentence instead of waiting for the governor to decide if they are restored.

Translation: pad the voter rolls with people who Democrats think will vote for them. It reeks of desperation: with Americans rejecting their crazy, progressive anti-American platform, they’re hunting for fresh voters, even if it means drafting felons as their newest constituency.

At least Dems aren’t handing the ballot box keys to current felons. That might be a bridge too far – though with Democrats, it’s hard to say if any bridge really is too far for them.
