It turns out that Democrats are having a full-blown existential crisis over their own party, with just 23% choosing a positive descriptor about it.
In a July 10–14, 2025 AP-NORC poll, Democrats were much more likely to describe their party as “weak” or “ineffective” (around one-third of them landed in “negative” territory) than to offer any praise.
Only about 1 in 10 called the party “empathetic” or “inclusive.” Maybe because they are constantly complaining about anyone who doesn’t agree with them.
Meanwhile, Republicans are nearly twice as likely to come off sounding enthusiastic about their party (41%).
If you’ve been keeping an eye on social media lately, you’ve probably noticed that many Democratic voters are frustrated with their elected officials for not fighting against President Donald J. Trump hard enough. Despite years of relentless attacks – lying about Trump, impeaching him, and even trying to imprison and assassinate him – it appears that the Democrats and their media cohorts still aren’t doing enough to satisfy their lunatic base.
So it’s not just Trump that Dems despise – they’re turning on themselves too. So what are they left with? A party that even its own supporters can’t stand, with deep internal rifts and an urgent need for someone – anyone – to actually stand up for them and fight. But what does ‘fighting’ even mean to them now? Given all the violent protests over the years, I think the answer is pretty clear.
Poor Democrats. Their supposed savior still hasn’t shown up – and it’s doubtful one ever will. The progressive wing has taken over, leaving the party divided and increasingly alienated. Instead of winning over hearts and minds, it seems Democrats are losing their own.
