Republicans are livid over GOP Rep. Maria Salazar’s “bipartisan” amnesty bill she introduced with Democrat Rep. Veronica Escobar of Texas.
So I’m sure you have heard of the Dignity Act of 2025 which is a bipartisan bill granting amnesty to qualified illegals who entered the country prior to 2021.
I am old enough to remember when Reagan signed a similar bill. Over the years it became diluted and not enforced. The…

Why is a US Congresswoman holding a press conference in SPANISH about how she wants her bill to grant amnesty to illegal aliens? @MaElviraSalazar should resign.

We need deportations, not amnesty.

Unfortunately for Salazar and Escobar (and their co-sponsors), the White House isn’t on board with their amnesty train. According to Breitbart News, Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said, “The president made it clear he will not support amnesty for illegal aliens in any way.”
In the “Dignity Act,” the bill would let certain illegal aliens stay in the U.S. for seven years with legal work permits, as long as they follow the rules and stay out of trouble. It would also set up processing centers in Latin America to handle asylum and job requests before people come to the U.S. On top of that, the bill would make it easier for high-skilled workers, like scientists and engineers with advanced degrees, to get work visas and stay in the country after graduation.
The message from the MAGA crowd? The Republican base is done with the amnesty crowd, “pathways to citizenship,” and job giveaways. Republican voters have had enough of the compassionate conservative routine that rewards lawbreaking with work permits, endless loopholes and handouts.
And MAGA isn’t buying feel-good buzzwords like “dignity” when the reality on the ground is border chaos, rising crime, lost jobs for Americans, and a host of other disasters fueled by Biden’s open-border policies. The message is clear: deport illegal aliens – starting with the criminals, but not stopping there.
If Salazar thinks this is the future of the GOP, she is in for a rude awakening. Amnesty by any name is still amnesty – and it’s DOA with the America First movement.
