Democrats might want to buckle up. Karoline Leavitt is leaving her post as President Donald Trump’s press secretary – and one of the names reportedly being floated to replace her is a guy who already spends his evenings sparring with Democrats on CNN. And he does it very well.

Leavitt, 28, will step down at the end of August to spend more time with her family after recently returning from maternity leave. Trump praised her as one of his most trusted aides, and she is expected to remain an outside adviser.

No replacement has officially been announced, but CNN conservative commentator Scott Jennings has emerged as a reported frontrunner.

Jennings has essentially been auditioning for the job nightly, defending Trump while surrounded by liberal CNN panelists who frequently look like they regret asking him a question.

CNN colleagues confronted Jennings Wednesday night about whether he wanted Leavitt’s job. When asked if he would serve, Jennings said, “I don’t know.”

“Do you want the job or not?” He was asked again.

Bakari Sellers jumped into the conversation and said, “Democrats are afraid of Scott Jennings becoming press secretary.” And that’s more than enough reason to hire him for the job.
