According to a report from the Daily Mail, Mexican citizen Brandon Ortiz-Vite, who brutally murdered his girlfriend, Michigander Ruby Garcia, is demanding a public apology from President Trump, $75.5M in punitive damages for himself and his family, court costs, and, because apparently we’re checking items off a fantasy wish list, U.S. citizenship. Plus “counseling to help with the stress that I experienced every day.”

The illegal alien murderer claims Trump “humiliated” him and turned his life into a “nightmare” by highlighting his case on the campaign trail as Exhibit A in the Biden administration’s open-border bloodbath. Apparently, the “nightmare” wasn’t what Garcia experienced when he shot her. The nightmare was the poor illegal alien murderer getting his feelings hurt after he said his case was blown out of proportion. The distraught illegal alien says he’s now labeled as a cold-blooded murderer and he gets harassed in prison and it’s just not fair.

For many Americans, the reaction is simple: How does someone who entered the country illegally, was convicted of killing an American, and is in prison where he belongs end up being able to sue the president of the United States?

Filing a lawsuit is not the same as having a legitimate case though. In federal court, Ortiz-Vite must establish standing by showing a concrete injury caused by the defendants that the court can legally remedy. His complaint can then be dismissed for lack of jurisdiction, failure to state a valid claim, immunity or other legal defects. And it SHOULD be dismissed because the case is ridiculous.

However, given the years of litigation surrounding Trump, it’s no longer out of the realm of possibility that a judge could let this case move forward – and that a jury hostile to the president could actually hand a convicted illegal alien murderer a victory.
