Every spring, some teenagers decide that the best way to celebrate graduation is to dress like wannabe burglars, lurk behind bushes at night and point realistic-looking water guns at each other in public. Then everyone acts shocked when police show up.

According to a report from Police1, a law enforcement news and training website, the latest “Senior Assassin” trend has triggered 911 calls, felony charges and multiple dangerous police encounters across the country.

In one Michigan case, a Davison Township officer actually drew his weapon before a teen jumped out from behind a car and sprayed him with a water gun during the game. Lucky for the student, he wasn’t fired upon.

Elsewhere, police say students have been spotted hiding around homes in hoodies and masks while carrying water guns that look almost identical to real firearms. One Indiana teen even ended up facing a felony intimidation charge after officers thought his fake gun was real.

This is what happens when TikTok combines with undeveloped teenage brains and zero common sense. Perhaps graduating these idiots into adulthood isn’t a good idea after all.
