If the Trump administration wants to keep America safe while staring down Iran, it might want to start by plugging the leaks coming from inside its own house. Former FBI deputy director and podcaster Dan Bongino recently warned his listeners that anti- Trump holdovers are still embedded in government agencies and can be difficult to identify – but he says that the Trump administration is trying to root them out. When it comes to national defense, however, “trying” probably needs to turn into “finding them” a whole lot faster.

In recent days, Washington seems to have more loose lips than a sinking submarine including what was said in a recent 60 Minutes interview with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. In the interview by CBS News’ chief Washington correspondent Major Garrett, he said to Hegseth, “CBS News has three sources telling us that Russia is providing intelligence to Iran on U.S. positions and movements…”

That information alone was troubling. But what raised MY eyebrows was the beginning of the question. He said “three sources…”

WHAT THREE SOURCES??? WHO IS LEAKING???! One of them is even described as a “senior U.S. official” in a CBS story on the internet.

America’s national security briefings aren’t supposed to operate like a 400-person group text where someone inevitably screenshots everything. The Trump administration needs to find out exactly who the scum is leaking information to the media – and shut it down immediately.

Washington’s permanent bureaucracy, which includes left-behind saboteurs from the Biden and Obama administrations, isn’t interested in defending the country or making it great in any way. It’s interested in making sure Trump faceplants on the world stage. And if that means leaking sensitive information in the middle of a national security crisis or even a “war,” apparently that’s just another day at the office. Amazing. But not surprising.
