There are bad ideas, and then there are ideas so offensively clueless they defy basic comprehension. New York Democratic Governor Kathy Hochul managed to deliver the latter by ordering 16 state landmarks including One World Trade Center in NYC lit up in green to mark “Muslim American Heritage Month.” The “Freedom Tower” is a symbolic replacement for the Twin Towers destroyed in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks by MUSLIMS.

Let’s be absolutely clear: this isn’t about Muslim Americans living peacefully in the United States. It’s about where Hochul chose to stage her virtue signaling. Ground Zero is not a blank canvas for progressive Democratic messaging. It is hallowed ground – made sacred by the ashes of nearly 3,000 people murdered by Islamist terrorists who shouted religious slogans while flying planes into buildings.

And Hochul looked at that site and thought, Yes, this is the perfect place to celebrate Muslims.

Green is not a neutral color in this context either. It carries unmistakable religious and political symbolism. It is a significant color associated with both Islam and Hamas. Not that Hochul cares.

This stunt wasn’t about “inclusion.” It was erasure. It erased the victims, the families, the first responders, and the promise that Ground Zero would remain a place of remembrance of September 11th – not a prop for partisan posturing. One can only imagine terrorists around the world watching in happy disbelief as the United States proves willing to assist in its own erasure.

Hochul’s X post about what she did had exactly ZERO supporters that I could find defending her and most commenters were calling her “vile” and “evil” and “wicked.” As one commenter pointed out, her post had about 6.5 million views and only 6.7K “likes.”

The late Charlie Kirk’s warning “Islam is the sword the Left is using to slit the throat of America” sounds less hyperbolic when governors start redecorating America’s most sacred memorials to appease Muslim activists who will vote for them.

If Governor Hochul wants to honor Muslim Americans, she should do so at her own house – instead of appropriating the sacred site where Islamic terrorists murdered thousands of Americans, a place she has no business meddling with.
