In a move that shocked absolutely nobody, former President Bill Clinton ghosted his scheduled congressional testimony this morning in the House’s Jeffrey Epstein probe – and yes, that means Hillary is almost certainly skipping her turn on Wednesday too.

The Clintons’ official excuse? According to Fox News, their attorneys sent in a multi- page legal letter dismissing the subpoenas as “invalid.” Funny how subpoenas are suddenly deemed to be “invalid” when they involve Democrats.

Unfortunately for old Billy Boy, Chairman James Comer wasn’t kidding when he warned that ignoring a subpoena has consequences. Comer said this morning, “We will move next week in the House Oversight Committee … to hold Bill Clinton in contempt of Congress.”

A criminal contempt of Congress citation is a misdemeanor offense, punishable by up to one year in prison and a fine of as much as $100,000 upon conviction. However, Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN) expressed skepticism that the Department of Justice would act on any referral saying, “I’ve been really disappointed in our Justice Department, so I would hope that maybe they’re making some changes over there.”

Attn: Trump administration: If defying Congress was enough to jail Steve Bannon and Peter Navarro, it’s enough for the Clintons too. Get to it.
