Christmas may be about goodwill, but the internet had other plans. A new poll comparing White House holiday decorations delivered a festive smackdown, with Melania Trump beating Jill Biden by a not-so-silent margin in the Christmas tree wars. The verdict? Melania has better taste, better execution, and better everything else too – but we’ll get to that a little later.

The Daily Mail reports that when 1,000 registered voters were asked to judge White House Christmas decorations – no names attached, no political labels involved – Melania Trump ran away with it.

Shown photos only, voters picked Melania’s 2025 décor 61% of the time over “Doctor” Jill’s 2024 Christmas setup trailing at 39%. In other words, this wasn’t a Trump-vs.- Biden popularity contest – it was a straight-up style test, and Jill lost. The margin got even uglier when Melania’s decorations were stacked up against Michelle Obama’s 2016 effort, with Melania winning by a hefty 67% to 33%.

Jill’s 2024 White House holiday theme was all “Season of Peace and Light” with candy- cane whimsy, doves and bells. Melania’s 2025 “Home Is Where the Heart Is” leaned into patriotic butterflies, ribbons, and gingerbread galore. Even Democrats liked Melania’s decorations more than Jill’s – by a margin of 62% to 38%.

But let’s set the Christmas trees, garland and ornaments aside for a moment – because the comparison doesn’t exactly end at wreaths and ribbons.

When stacked up against Jill Biden and Michelle Obama, Melania Trump seems to dominate the unofficial scorecard in a few other categories too.

When you stack Melania up against Jill and Michelle, the pattern is hard to miss. Better taste, better poise, better presence. Christmas décor comes down in January, but elegance? That sticks around long after the lights go out.
