Another day, another reason to be grateful that the Biden regime didn’t get its way in 2024 — because it would’ve continued its Draconian overreach of power.
The latest case in point: Biden’s FBI, at the behest of former special counsel Jack Smith, spied on almost a dozen U.S. senators in 2023, combing through 2020 phone calls as part of its endless January 6th witch hunt.
And, of course, every one of those senators was Republican — Mike Kelly, Lindsey Graham, Bill Hagerty, Josh Hawley, Dan Sullivan, Tommy Tuberville, Cynthia Lummis, Marsha Blackburn, and Ron Johnson — who shared his reaction yesterday.
Maybe you’re not shocked. After all, this is the same government that geolocated and arrested people simply for being near the Capitol on January 6th — that targeted and arrested Catholics for praying outside abortion clinics — that waged lawfare against Donald Trump, General Flynn, Roger Stone, Steve Bannon, and countless others.
So the question remains: will we ever see accountability?
Some good news — Kash Patel’s FBI has already started cleaning house. The agents responsible for the monitoring were fired, and Jack Smith’s shadow task force has been dismantled. Patel has launched a deeper probe into the baseless surveillance and other forms of overreach by Biden’s weaponized institutions. But as Senator Johnson pointed out, rooting out corruption won’t be easy.
The January 6th narrative has been twisted and milked dry by Democrats — their all-purpose excuse for any abuse of power. Joe Borelli even called out CNN’s hypocrisy before being drowned out by the rest of the liberal media chorus.
Meanwhile, the left keeps crying “weaponized government” whenever Trump’s team holds actual lawbreakers accountable — conveniently forgetting who wrote the playbook on government weaponization in the first place.
Take former FBI Director James Comey, who faces arraignment for lying to Congress and obstructing justice. This is the same Comey who tried to undermine Trump’s presidency with the Russia collusion hoax. He lied — to Congress, to the public, and to the president. Holding him accountable is just the beginning.
Even Trump critic Michael Cohen admits Comey’s trial could reveal the full scope of the government’s abuse of power against Trump.
Of course, Cohen couldn’t resist painting Trump as vengeful — it was MSNBC, after all. But Comey’s in trouble. On record, he admitted to George Stephanopoulos that he hid Clinton-financed “intelligence” from Trump.
We all know what Comey’s goal was — to cripple Trump’s image and effectiveness before he even got started. He was a pawn of the establishment, used to subvert the will of the American people who dared to demand something different.
And the establishment’s ability to twist the story to suit its needs? That’s alive and well — as Barack Obama proves yet again.
For eight years, Obama inflamed racial tensions and turned government institutions into weapons against conservatives. In 2013, his IRS targeted right-leaning nonprofits. His Justice Department and intelligence cronies set the stage for the Russia hoax. He “unmasked” Trump associates before Trump even took office.
And when he wasn’t weaponizing government, he had a friendly media to do it for him. Obama didn’t just use the government against his political opponents — he built the machine that carried on after he left.
That’s why Attorney General Pam Bondi’s five-hour interrogation yesterday was so absurd.
Where’s the Democratic outrage over the FBI spying on sitting U.S. senators? Or about a special counsel investigating a former president? Right — it’s only a scandal when Republicans do it.
Maybe one day, the mainstream media will grill every Democrat about the FBI’s surveillance of Republicans as relentlessly as they demanded conservatives condemn January 6th. But don’t hold your breath.
