Democratic California Governor Gavin Newsom loves to strut the national stage as he auditions to be the next leader in the Oval Office, but maybe he should take a peek out the limo window on his way to the airport.
In Winnetka – a once-idyllic Los Angeles neighborhood – the “California Dream” has been replaced with an RV parking lot that looks more like a set from Breaking Bad than suburbia.
Families now step over syringes and trash to get to the close-by elementary school and watch RV squatters openly shooting up next to the Winnetka Recreation Center. Locals told reporters they’re terrified to go outside at night, with one longtime resident saying to the Daily Mail, ‘I’m 6’2 and I’m scared to go out of my door at night. I have witnessed people shooting up right on the street.” Another says, “Everybody who has any sense is sick of California.”
The city’s response? Parking tickets. Yes, officials handed out citations to the mobile meth labs-on-wheels that have taken over the streets.
Meanwhile, residents keep calling their city councilman, who issues the same press releases about “working with LA Sanitation” and connecting “unhoused” folks with services. Translation: bureaucratic gobbledygook while parents wonder if their kids will catch hepatitis on the way to soccer practice.
This is the California model Newsom wants to export to the rest of America if he gets his hands on the presidency: law-abiding taxpayers footing the bill for crime, addiction, and homelessness where these things are not just tolerated, but subsidized. Oh, and don’t forget subsidizing illegal aliens too!
If Gavin Newsom and his Democratic pals can’t keep an elementary school street clear of drug dens and trash heaps, why should anyone trust him to run a country of over 330 million people? Spoiler alert: they shouldn’t.
There are “trash, rats, and vermin are everywhere,” said one resident. And no, he’s not just talking about the Democrats.
