There are those of us who have full-time jobs – and then there’s whatever the Democratic base does between soy lattes and recording TikToks. They are constantly, continuously, incessantly and relentlessly marching, chanting, sobbing, rioting, and waving cardboard signs like revolutionaries who are overdrawn on their Venmo accounts and need someone to blame. Enter Trump.

You name the issue that Trump supports (or doesn’t) and the Left has got a rally, a hashtag, and a performance-ready tear duct ready to be his opposition. Sometimes they even combine their protests into one big anti-Trump rally where they scream about tariffs, abortion laws, Gaza, trans issues and ICE all at the same time.

Let’s take a little shuffle – sensible shoes required, since a lot of the protesters are aging Boomers – down memory lane and recap just a few of the many protests hosted or joined by elected Democrats, progressive nonprofits, Antifa, and their endlessly outraged activist squads. I know I’m leaving plenty out as I try keeping pace with the professional rage circuit. Protesting is a full-time job for some, a side hustle for others.

1. Student Walkouts for Gaza (Fall 2024–Spring 2025)

These are college students who skipped class to shout about ceasefires in Gaza and acted very antisemitically. They were waving signs even though they can’t even spell “colonizer” correctly (tuition dollars well spent.) The irony? These are some of the same leftist protesters, who were totally masked up, who are now up in arms about ICE agents wearing masks while rounding up criminal illegal aliens nationwide. Apparently, what’s good for the leftist goose isn’t good for the ICE gander – especially when the gander enforces actual immigration law.

2. Protests Against Parental Rights Laws (March 2025)

When parents want a say in their child’s education and schools, Democrats respond with, “How dare you!” and stage rallies. Organized by the National Education Association (NEA) and affiliated local educators/unions, hundreds of events nationwide were held to demand support for “robust” public education and opposition to any proposals to curb school autonomy or censor curricula (i.e. leftist plans to show inappropriate books in school and let trans boys go into girls locker rooms, bathrooms and play in girls sports).

3. Hands Off! Protests (April 2025)

Millions protested President Trump and Elon Musk and the cuts proposed by DOGE (Department of Government Efficiency). Sounds reasonable, right? Because what says “defending the poor” like flying cross-country to DC and staying in a $400 hotel? This is another protest where they boasted about having events in “all 50 states.” But how hard is that, really? That’s only 50 total protests which need to be scheduled.

4. Climate Marches (Earth Day, April 22, 2025)

Yes, the global warming nuts still lie down in the streets, pretending to be climate victims. Bonus points if they got there in a Prius with a “Free Gaza” bumper sticker. For some reason, instead of being pro-earth, these events turned into anti-Trump protests. At least the Left is predictable on what their priorities are. And their number one priority is hating Trump.

5. No Kings Day of Action (June 2025)

The monarchy metaphor got a workout here with the No Kings approach. Protesters marched to let Trump know we don’t do kings in America… unless of course those kings happen to be Democrats like California Governor Gavin Newsom, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer during Covid or former President Joe Biden. If there is a clamping down on our rights when Democrats are in charge, that’s perfectly fine – but Trump is supposedly the real dictator.

6. Pride Rally (June 8, 2025)

Tens of thousands marched on the National Mall under protest slogans like “Fight back,” “Ban bombs not bathrooms,” and “We will not be erased”, highlighting threats to LGBTQ+ rights and calling for action. This event also turned into an anti-Trump event. See a theme here??

Too many to list…

It’s not that Americans don’t have the right to protest – we do. But the Democratic base has turned it into an Olympic sport of perpetual outrage. There’s a protest kit ready for every one of Trump’s social media posts and executive orders. And it’s not just about national protests going on. There are also issue-specific protests happening in states and cities across the country including the ICE protests and the perpetual Antifa rioting going on in Portland.

Perhaps it’s time someone staged a protest against all the protesting. I would be game for that!

Oh… and don’t forget about the newest protest on the calendar for the leftists. It’s “Families First Day of Action” on July 26. It’s MoveOn’s summer sequel to rage theatre, brought to you by Zoom training, donated mic rentals, and exactly zero self-awareness of the reality of how MAGA is improving conditions in the country. It’ll be another protest that’s covered incessantly but the mainstream media and the protesters be lauded for their hard work and dedication even though the Left will accomplish absolutely nothing.

In a recent fundraising email, the MoveOn folks said they are angry with Trump (that’s nothing new) so they are taking to the streets on July 26 to protest the Big Beautiful Bill and “let the Republicans and Trump administration know that families come before billionaires.” They implore their supporters to send them money and make this new protest even larger than the Hands Off! And No Kings ones before this.

In the end, if Trump cured cancer, the Left would protest on behalf of the tumors and unemployed oncologists. There’s no policy, plan, or patriotic gesture the president could make that wouldn’t trigger a nationwide sob-fest complete with matching shirts, hashtag campaigns, and someone crying in front of a camera about how democracy is at stake and their truth is being erased.

These folks don’t want solutions – they want spectacle. And as long as Trump is in the picture, they’ll keep rage-staging every weekend like it’s Coachella for crybabies. Maybe someday they’ll run out of cardboard for their protest signs – but don’t count on it.
