The national debt is closing in on a mind-melting $37 trillion—and yet, here we are, still jawing about it. Democrats drove us into this fiscal ditch with reckless spending, and Republicans, well, they’re too busy checking the political wind to climb in and tow us out.

Speaker Mike Johnson laid out the problem plainly:

A chunk of that astronomical spending spree went to people who aren’t even American citizens. Between Elon Musk’s exposure of USAID fraud and the billions funneled into illegal migrant support, it’s no wonder the country’s balance sheet looks like a horror film.

Democrat mayors? They’ve managed to bungle this mess even further:

Take Boston—if you can get a number out of them. You won’t. That’s on purpose. They don’t want the legal residents knowing how much was wasted on services for illegal migrants instead of potholes and public safety. And when Mayor Brandon Johnson of Chicago casually mentions “1-percent,” don’t be fooled. That’s $625 million, and that figure doesn’t even cover the full scope of migrant-related costs.

It gets worse. The Democratic Party appears dead set on spending your money to help individuals like Mohammed Soliman—an illegal immigrant and terrorist who set elderly people and children on fire in Boulder, Colorado, while yelling “free Palestine.”

Do you support individual military members being able to opt out of getting the COVID vaccine?

And who’s working against ICE? Democrat mayors like Dontae Comans of Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania, who has openly warned illegals about federal raids:

Or Nashville’s Freddie O’Connell, who responded to ICE operations not by cooperating, but by blasting the agents’ names online, handing gang members and criminal illegals a roadmap.

This is happening while ICE agents face a 413% increase in assaults. Instead of backing the people tasked with keeping us safe, progressive mayors are turning them into targets.

Elon Musk tried to fix this broken system, spotlighting the perverse way programs like Social Security and Medicare are now exploited to serve non-citizens:

So where’s the GOP bill to codify DOGE cuts? Where’s the legislation to trim the fat from the bloated bureaucracies most Americans can’t even name?

Representative Brandon Gill says he’s worried about the national debt:

But forgive the skepticism—we’ll believe it when we see it.

Agencies like the Department of Education, the EPA, and the rest of the alphabet soup continue to vacuum up our money while real issues go unfixed. Meanwhile, the Democrats stayed silent as Sleepy Joe outsourced the presidency to a team of unelected staffers—probably because he couldn’t remember if he was on Earth or Neptune.

Sure, not all Republicans are asleep at the wheel. Some are sounding the alarm. But the rest? The RINOs, the moderates—they’d rather sip tea with Democrats than take a blowtorch to the bloated budget. They love to praise “bipartisanship.” You know where that’s taking us? Bankruptcy court. Hope they like the acoustics.

This week, Capitol Hill is set to move on a $9 billion rescissions package, mostly slashing USAID. Speaker Johnson breaks down the why:

Here’s a thought for the GOP—spend more time cutting, less time explaining why you can’t.

And let’s not kid ourselves—a single $9 billion Band-Aid won’t heal a $37 trillion wound. Elon Musk wasn’t just a tech billionaire with a rocket fetish; he was a symbol of what could’ve been. Without a GOP ready to codify those cuts, to institutionalize DOGE, we’re just spinning our wheels in the swamp.

We’re a nation spending imaginary money on programs we don’t need for people who shouldn’t be here, while our infrastructure rots, our border leaks, and our children inherit a future that looks more like a bankruptcy hearing than the American Dream.

So what’s it going to take? How deep in debt do we have to be before the GOP grows a spine? When will we stop pretending we can print our way out of this mess? At what point does China stop financing our foolishness?

The GOP needs to act. Now. Codify DOGE. Make the cuts real. Stop treating the federal budget like it’s Monopoly money. You’ve been given power—use it. Stop playing defense when you’re supposed to be on offense.

Call your representatives. Show up. Make noise. Because if we let them keep kicking this debt bomb down the road, Elon Musk’s exit won’t just be symbolic—it’ll be the sound of the last lifeboat leaving fiscal Titanic. Let’s make America solvent again.
