President Trump’s National Institutes of Health, run by Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, is ending experimentation on beagles—a cruel practice that was being funded by taxpayers’ dollars. The in-house beagle laboratory on the NIH campus in Bethesda, Maryland, is being shut down—after being accused of killing thousands of beagles over the last four decades.

Bhattacharya made the announcement during a Fox News interview about changes within NIH and HHS.

Beagle experiments have long been under fire from both sides of the aisle, although the Trump administration has been the only one to protect the dogs.

Reports from the lab detail experiments on beagles that included pumping pneumonia-causing bacteria into the dogs, causing them to bleed out and go into septic shock.

Beagles are popular victims of research experiments due to their friendly, docile nature – something that former NIH Director Dr. Anthony Fauci and other heartless mad scientists under his leadership exploited without a second thought.

In February, the House Oversight Committee exposed Fauci’s NIH labs for running these barbaric experiments, and on May 2 – Elon Musk announced on Twitter that DOGE would investigate animal abuse in experiments funded by the Department of Defense, in response to the White Coat Waste project’s exposure.

The White Coat Waste is a bipartisan campaign committed to exposing animal abuse funded by taxpayer dollars. Sounds like the perfect project for DOGE to collaborate with.

Other experiments included locking our furry friends’ heads in cages filled with ravenous, infested sandflies.

The tax dollars of pet owners across the U.S. were going toward these cold-blooded tests, but under President Trump, beagle lovers everywhere can rest easy.

In April, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced that it also is phasing out animal testing for antibody drugs, opting for material that mimic human organs instead.

The Trump administration is focusing on making all of America great again, apparently, animals included.

Bhattacharya says PETA sent him flowers to thank him for the change.

Bhattacharya told Fox News that it has been an uphill battle, trying to change policy at the NIH. He says his critics put the “worst possible spin” on every choice he makes, but this is one decision that left-wing pundits couldn’t possibly cry ‘foul’ on.

They’ll continue to justify lunch dates in El Salvador with suspected gang members, but justifying cruel experimentation on friendly, furry beagles is hopefully beneath them.

Beagles in healthy enough condition are being rehomed with families who can give these precious dogs a much better life.
