JoAnna St. Germain, an English teacher at Waterville Senior High School in Maine, is under investigation after a series of Facebook posts in which she suggested that President Donald Trump and his allies should be killed.

In a post she stated, “The Secret Service has the perfect opportunity, if they choose to step up and take it. Coordinate. Take out every single person who supports Trump’s illegal, immoral, unconstitutional acts. Look at the sycophants and give them what they’re asking for.”

St. Germain further expressed that if she had the necessary skills, she would carry out the acts herself, writing, “If I had the skill set required, I would take them out myself.”

The Waterville Police Department has confirmed awareness of the posts and is working with federal authorities to ensure public safety. The U.S. Secret Service is also informed but has not released any additional statements.

St. Germain’s comments have sparked concern, especially among parents and community members, given her role as an educator. The school district has yet to release an official statement regarding potential disciplinary actions, but Peter Hallen, superintendent of the Waterville school district, reportedly emailed parents to say, “Please know that I have taken steps to ensure everyone’s safety and am, along with the appropriate authorities, actively investigating the incident.”

The principal of the high school did not respond to my request for comment on the situation including whether or not St. Germain is still employed at the school – however she is still listed on the website in the staff directory as of May 1, 2025.

This is even after a more recent post where St. Germain says about her post: “I’m not the least fucking sorry.”
