Jake Tapper, CNN’s resident Trump-hater and finger-wagger, along with Politico’s Alex Thompson, have teamed up to co-write Original Sin: President Biden’s Decline, Its Cover-Up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again, a book that’s part exposé, part amnesia tour, and all damage control concerning the 2024 election and Biden’s mental and physical fitness.

Suddenly, stories are pouring out about Biden like spilled Metamucil including the fact that Biden reportedly didn’t recognize longtime pal George Clooney at a Hollywood fundraiser. Yes, the same George Clooney who’s practically been an honorary Biden for decades.

Additionally, according to reports, David Plouffe, veteran Democratic strategist and ex-adviser to former President Biden, torches him in the book. But he’s just trying to salvage his reputation since his client, Kamala Harris, lost. HE OBVIOUSLY KNEW about Biden’s decline – and so did Kamala and Jill and Obama (who helped Biden off the stage at a fundraiser) and everyone else around him.

So now we have the same media that used to scoff at any mention of Biden’s cognitive decline currently treating his forgetfulness like a new plot twist in an epic story. Tapper, whose past coverage mostly consisted of pooh-poohing “baseless” GOP attacks, is now conveniently remembering things the rest of America noticed years ago – like Biden wandering off mid-sentence or needing note cards to greet his own Cabinet.

Let’s be real: this isn’t journalism. It’s pre-emptive reputation laundering. The goal? To jump ship without getting wet and claim no responsibility in the cover-up of the fact that the country was being run by a cognitively compromised president. These Beltway boys definitely want to try to keep their press badges clean for the post-Biden era.

With a Democratic Party that has no direction and needs to do clean-up duty on the past, suddenly Biden’s handlers can’t keep the lid on the Tupperware anymore.
