In a political landscape where consistency is as rare as a bipartisan handshake, the left’s latest uproar over President Trump’s potential acceptance of a Qatari 747-8 jumbo jet as a temporary Air Force One replacement is a masterclass in selective indignation.

Democrats (and the leftist media) came out fast and furious opposing Trump accepting the jet.

Even former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley, came out of hiding long enough to whine about the jet saying, “Regardless of how beautiful the plane may be, it opens a door and implies the President and US can be bought.”

Funny how the left – and the anti-Trump crowd – have no issue with Trump jetting around in a pair of 40- year-old flying antiques while he waits on Boeing to finally finish the long-delayed Air Force One replacement.

Meanwhile, the left’s fake freak-out over the offered Qatari jet? That’s comedy gold.

The plane in question, a luxurious “palace in the sky” valued at $400 million, is being offered by Qatar’s ruling family.

Trump has defended the move as a cost-saving measure, stating the jet would serve until January 2029 before being transferred to his presidential library. So Trump is, in effect, “renting” the plane (for free) to the federal government. And then it will basically become a museum piece. So this is really a gift to the government, not Trump himself.

And it wouldn’t be the first one to a president or to the United States – including the Resolute desk which often sits in the Oval Office – and was gifted to the United States from Queen Victoria.

Critics, however, are sounding alarms about the Qatari plane over potential violations of the Constitution’s Emoluments Clause (which prohibits federal officials from accepting gifts from foreign governments without congressional approval).

However, this fervent concern about accepting “bribes” was totally absent when it came to the Biden family’s foreign financial entanglements.

House Oversight Committee investigations have revealed that Hunter Biden and his associates received over $20 million from foreign entities which was funneled to Joe and family – including payments from Ukrainian and Chinese sources (and we all know THAT is a low figure!)

And are Hunter Biden’s “beautiful” paintings selling now? NOPE. Because buying one was a bribe. However, the Dems didn’t care – and still don’t.

So, while the left decries the ethical implications of Trump’s potential acceptance of a foreign jet, their silence on the Biden family’s questionable foreign income has always been deafening.

It’s a curious case of outrage altitude sickness – where moral compasses only function at certain elevations.

In the end, it’s not about the plane, but who’s boarding it.

The only concern we should have about the plane is if it is secure and safe enough for the president and has everything a president would need onboard.

Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz has said that he thinks the plane “poses significant espionage and surveillance problems. So we’ll see how this issue plays out.” Yes, we will – and we’ll see if this is just Trump trolling the left again – or if he’s really considering accepting the gift.

We will also see if this is real diplomatic dilemma – or just another episode of Trump Derangement Syndrome at 30,000 feet. Because let’s be honest: if this same jet were offered to Joe Biden, Chuck Schumer would be on the tarmac with a ribbon and scissors, and CNN would be calling it “a historic moment in U.S.-Qatar relations.”
