At the end of Slotkin’s speech, she said, “First, don’t tune out. It’s easy to be exhausted, but America needs you now more than ever. If previous generations had not fought for democracy, where would we be today? Second, hold your elected officials, including me, accountable. Watch how they’re voting. Go to town halls and demand they take action. That’s as American as apple pie. Three, organize. Pick just one issue you’re passionate about – and engage. And doom scrolling doesn’t count. Join a group that cares about your issue, and act. And if you can’t find one, start one. Some of the most important movements in our history have come from the bottom up.”

So far, Resistance 2.0 against Trump hasn’t materialized into much. No matter how much the Dems keep trying to gin up protests against DOGE (Department of Government Efficiency), Elon and some of their other issues, they just can’t seem to kickstart anything equivalent to the Black Lives Matter or Antifa riots of the past. Right now, most of the resistance is from the Dem politicians, not the people.

Case in point…In Michigan on Tuesday, dozens of protesters gathered outside of the Capitol to oppose Trump. DOZENS. An earth-shattering movement indeed. And the media actually covered it. Although what they initially reported as “dozens” originally has now magically become “hundreds” as seen in this WLNS report. Nice try, fake news media.

The “resistance” (what there is of it) according to the Border Hawk News is just a rebrand, recycle and repeat from past resistances. Yes, the anti-Trump folks keep reinventing their movement. There are just too many things to complain about – Trump and Russia; racism; Covid; xenophobia at the open border; January 6th. The list is vast and keeps getting longer.

Right now, their main beefs seem to be opposing ICE deporting illegal alien criminals; opposing DOGE finding waste, fraud and abuse; supporting Palestinians and opposing Project 2025 which none of them know a thing about.

According to Border Hawk News, pro-Palestine mobs and the folks who were involved in Black Lives Matter protests, have seamlessly transitioned into anti-ICE protesters, proving once again that leftist activism is less about actual causes and more about finding the next thing to yell about. The unifying theme? Perpetual outrage.

Slotkin and her fellow Democrats seem to believe that repeatedly saying “Trump” will distract voters from the real issues – problems caused by Biden and the Democrats that Trump is actually trying to fix: inflation, crime, fentanyl deaths, and the border crisis. Meanwhile, their handful of allies in the activist world still show up in the streets every once in a while, desperately trying to keep the resistance alive, even if nobody’s really paying attention anymore. Whatever the next big thing is, you can be sure Slotkin and her crew will be ready to resist it – whether anyone cares or not.
