Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel, a Democrat, is on a mission – not to fight crime, not to protect consumers, and certainly not to deal with the state’s actual problems. No, her primary focus has become waging an endless legal and social media war against President Donald Trump and his allies. Instead of tackling issues that actually impact Michigan residents, she’s turned her office into the Trump resistance headquarters.
Forget rising crime rates, economic struggles, or the fact that Michigan residents might prefer an AG who works for them – because Nessel is too busy chasing after Trump like a political paparazzo.
Press release after press release is sent out every day from Nessel bragging about how she’s joining lawsuits to stop the Trump nightmare from continuing, whether it’s about Trump trying to weed out waste fraud and abuse or if it’s about birthright citizenship which she wants extended to every illegal alien baby in the country.
Why the sudden Trump obsession? Most say it’s because she’s got higher political aspirations in mind – i.e running to be Michigan’s next governor or senator. To that end, she’s also started a podcast alongside Arizona AG Kris Mayes called “Pantsuits and Lawsuits” to raise her profile.
But don’t bother listening. The music is bad and so are the irritating voices of Nessel and Mayes.
Not surprisingly, episode three is titled “Birthright Citizenship” and is all about Orange Man Bad. Since both women are all about open borders, they had Reyna Montoya of Aliento AZ and Susan Reed of the Michigan Immigrant Rights Center join them on the episode to talk about the “real-world impact” of “attacks” on illegal alien families in Michigan and Arizona. The message: Trump is bad.
It’s not just Trump in Nessel’s crosshairs. She’s also gunning for Elon Musk, trying to block what she calls the unlawful delegation of executive power to Musk and his DOGE buddies. Fighting waste, fraud, and corruption? Looks like that’s not exactly Nessel’s priority.
So while Nessel focuses on her anti-Trump obsession, real problems pile up. Michigan’s roads aren’t improving, people are struggling with sky-high costs and there’s plenty of fraud and crime in Michigan that Nessel should be focusing on. But instead of focusing on those issues, she’s too busy using her office as a taxpayer-funded political war room.
