Saturday Night Live hasn’t been funny in ages – probably not since the ’90s when comedians like Dana Carvey, Phil Hartman, Mike Myers, Dennis Miller, Kevin Nealon, Chris Farley, and Adam Sandler ruled the stage. And as for funny women? The show hasn’t seen funny females since the days of Gilda Radner, Jane Curtin, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Jan Hooks, and Victoria Jackson.

The lack of funny-ness is not because SNL is lacking material. There has been plenty of material for them to use over past quarter-century. They are just unwilling to use a lot of it because they don’t want to offend people.

But THAT is what comedy is about. It’s either about relating with each other through stupid stuff (like the Seinfeld show) or it’s about offending people. It’s supposed to be about satire – holding up human vices and follies to ridicule or scorn. But SNL is afraid to do that if it means making fun of their precious Democrat friends and their precious insane progressive ideas.

Over the weekend, they had their big SNL 50th Anniversary special. All it did was prove that the show still sucks. Calling all comedy writers…. Where are you????!

During one of their un-funny skits, they rolled out Tom Hanks to play Doug, a MAGA-hat-wearing redneck contestant on Black Jeopardy. The problem? He wasn’t funny and the whole thing fell flat. SNL actually made both groups look bad – Trump supporters AND Black Americans – with their condescending and outdated stereotypes. And the rest of the show kept up their anti-Trump mantra as well according to the New York Post.

It’s no secret SNL has been on life support for years. Their idea of “comedy” is reading Democratic Party talking points off a cue card and bringing in some musical entertainers and leftist celebrities so people will watch. Gone are the days of actual satire or, heaven forbid, making fun of everyone equally in an actual FUNNY way.

Tom Hanks even admitted that the past was where all of the good skits were when he showed his “in memoriam” bit about how the comedy of the past hasn’t aged well over the years. That was back when SNL actually knew what comedy was and weren’t afraid to push the envelope. Now their goals are to be PC, not offend anyone and be the resistance to Donald Trump.

It’s been obvious for a while: SNL doesn’t read the room – they lecture it. And no one is laughing. They haven’t been for quite a while.
