Talk show host Dan Bongino has never been one to shy away from the spotlight – or a sharp-tongued quip. Now, the outspoken patriot is trading his barbed commentary for the weighty responsibility of serving as Deputy Director of the FBI at the request of President Donald J. Trump.
According to media reports, the deputy director oversees the FBI’s daily operations, coordinating investigations and intelligence across all 55 field offices. Often briefed on cases early, the deputy frequently has a deeper understanding of ongoing investigations than the director.
Bongino’s new job comes, most definitely, at a much lower pay scale than he’s used to and with the burden of helping to lead the national security team in order to keep America safe. I contend that there is no one better for the job than Dan Bongino, a true patriot. He will be serving the president under the new FBI director, Kash Patel.
Walking the walk.
Saying on his show several times over his career that “the do matters” he said that he had to take the position offered and walk the walk now that he has been given the opportunity to help the country. He said on his show on Monday, February 24th, “Every single strand of DNA cell in my body is going to be dedicated to keeping this homeland safe no matter what, that’s my job.”
From Queens to the national stage.
Bongino has had a diverse career. Growing up in Queens, he started as a New York City police officer before becoming a Secret Service agent assigned to Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama. He also pursued a political career, running as a Republican in Maryland, though his campaigns were unsuccessful.
Beyond his public service, Bongino became an author and media personality. He’s served as a Fox News commentator, hosted his own Fox News show, and now hosts the Dan Bongino Show on both radio and as a podcast – a format he embraced 11 years ago, well before podcasting was popular. His radio program gained even more prominence after Rush Limbaugh’s passing, when Bongino was selected to take over Limbaugh’s time slot on many radio stations across the country in March 2021.
Bongino also has Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in psychology and Master of Business Administration degree – and started the website the “Bongino Report” to compete with the Drudge Report, when, for some reason, Matt Drudge started supporting progressive insanity and became a shill for the Democratic Party.
Trump reveals Dan’s new job to the world on Truth Social.
Sunday, February 23rd, was the day that Trump told the world about Bongino’s new job on Truth Social:
Bongino said on his show yesterday that AG Pam Bondi and Kash Patel were behind choosing him for the role of Deputy Director of the FBI – and he will do his best to implement their vision.
Walking away: a heartfelt farewell to everyone.
Bongino told his audience, “It’s a lot to walk away from,” referring to his radio show and media empire. He thanked his wife and his Bongino Show team and his audience as well, breaking down a few times during his show, including when talking about a future which will mean spending less time with his younger 13-year-old daughter.
A bold mission to restore trust and leadership in America.
But now Bongino’s mission is clear: to restore integrity and public trust in one of America’s most revered institutions – one that went to crap under the Biden-Harris administration. Already, Bongino has put the bad actors on notice, saying that there are bad people in the country who want to do Americans harm – sex traffickers, gang members, etc. They have a target on their backs now. And Bongino’s going to make sure that the FBI gets back to doing what they are supposed to be doing – and have the backing of leadership.
In the press release about Bongino accepting the job, he said, “There are dedicated people in the FBI who take their oath to the constitution seriously. They deserve leadership that will back them up, protect their mission, and ensure they can do their jobs.”
Answering the call: sacrifice, service, and the price of true patriotism.
Bongino is doing all of this for America – and he’s sacrificing a lot. He’ll have less time with his family, less money, and his successful radio show will be coming to an end in a few weeks…But he should know that his audience, the Bongino Army, will be here when he returns, no matter when that may be.
America faces threats both visible and covert, and the call for heroes has never been more urgent. Dan Bongino’s decision to step into this pivotal role is a potent reminder that true patriotism isn’t about making flashy headlines; it’s about making the tough, often heartbreaking, sacrifices when duty calls. Yes, there are still those willing to put America’s safety above all else. Thank you, Dan Bongino!
