In a stunning display of hypocrisy and selective amnesia, New York’s Democratic Governor, Kathy Hochul, has decided to borrow a page from the Trump playbook, deploying the National Guard in a desperate attempt to salvage the NYC subway’s sinking reputation as a crime-ridden cesspool.

Yes, you heard it right – that would be the same National Guard concept that was deemed “tyrannical” and also “racist” by some when it was merely a glimmer in Trump’s eye back when he promised a second term that would include deploying the Guard into U.S. cities with high crime rates.

It seems crime in the Big Apple has reached such a boiling point that Hochul, not one to miss an opportunity to showcase her leadership prowess, is unleashing 750 National Guard members into the subway fray.

But, of course, this isn’t racist or dictatorial when a Democratic woman does it. Those labels are reserved exclusively for Trump, according to failed Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, who took to the social media platform X to point out the glaring double standards.

Trump was called tyrannical when he brought the idea up.

Ramaswamy quipped, “When Trump raised the idea of using the National Guard, they called it tyrannical. When a Democratic governor now uses it, they call it a ‘public safety measure.’”

No guns allowed – but other manners of attack are okie dokie.

The Guard will use their presence to conduct bag checks to make sure no one has a gun. Criminals who want to assault or kill through other means such as strangulation and hitting someone on the head should be okay.

So, as usual, the Democrat answer to a problem is not to actually FIX the problem, it’s to do something on the back end of the problem. In this case, they will be rifling through the belongings of law-abiding citizens.

Hochul, channeling her inner authoritarian, declared with stern resolve last Wednesday, “Let me just be very, very clear. These brazen, heinous attacks on our subway system will not be tolerated.”

You can go home if you don’t like it, Gov. says.

A commendable sentiment, but one can’t help but wonder if Hochul’s newfound enthusiasm for subway safety is merely a political stunt or a genuine awakening to the reality her constituents face.

And in case anyone dares to question the constitutionality of such measures, too bad.

Hochul delivered a curt ultimatum: If you don’t want your bags checked, then “go home.”

Yes, no one is forced to take the subway. Nor do they have to give up their bags to the authorities. They can just go back to their warm houses.

Nothing says “public servant” quite like telling citizens to hit the road if they value their privacy.

If the Democrats didn’t have double standards, they wouldn’t have any standards at all.

The Democrats’ capacity for double standards is truly a marvel. They decry every move Trump makes as racist, homophobic, xenophobic, sexist and tyrannical while conveniently overlooking their own mirror image in the political carnival funhouse.

Over the Trump years, we have seen that the Democratic Party’s platform is built on a foundation of lies, hypocrisy, and Trump-centric paranoia – a toxic cocktail that few should willingly swallow and vote for.

And while Hochul plays her trump card (pun intended) with the National Guard, it is evident that these drastic PR measures are only a Band-Aid slapped onto the festering wound of failed Democratic policies.

A Band-Aid on a hemorrhage.

Even former police commissioner William Bratton calls the whole thing, “the equivalent of putting a Band-Aid on a hemorrhage.”

Rather than addressing the root causes, like keeping criminals behind bars, they opt for a theatrical display of force in the subway.

It’s a classic Democratic strategy: implement after-the-fact measures to mitigate the consequences of their pro-criminal policies and misguided “Defund the Police” agenda.

As the Democrats continue reap what they sow in crime-ridden NYC, commuters are left to ponder whether the subway will be safer or if this is just another act in the Democrats’ ongoing political theater?
